Kuala Lumpur: CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad has standardised the names of
unit trust funds within its stable. From today, all its conventional funds will
carry the prefix ‘CIMB-Principal’, while its Islamic funds will carry the
prefix ‘CIMB Islamic’. Previously, some of these funds either carried the
prefix ‘SBB’ or did not have prefixes.
Datuk Noripah Kamso, Chief Executive of CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad, said: “This
new naming convention ensures consistency and allows local and regional
investors to recognise our brand and investment products immediately. It also
creates a distinct brand for our Shariah-compliant funds.“
This renaming exercise also applies to funds of CIMB Wealth Advisors,
which are being managed by CIMB-Principal. CIMB
Wealth Advisors Berhad is a subsidiary of CIMB-Principal.
The funds were renamed with effect from 3 January 2008.
